Worth the read

LONDON — A small book written 63 years ago by a nameless bureaucrat in the U.S. War Department still shines as a little gem of U.S.-British social commentary.

"The British don't know how to make a good cup of coffee," the book advises. "You don't know how to make a good cup of tea. It's an even swap."

It seems doubtful the case for accepting cultural differences has ever been made more succinctly.
