Backstory: In April I was diagnosed by ENT with chronic sinusitis which I think showed up last August (other than discolored nasal discharge I wasn't presenting typical sinus infection symptoms which is why my GP didn't diagnose it). ENT in March put me on antibiotics which cleared sinus infection and then in May a CT scan revealed I still have a sinus infection due to blockage.

This morning I had "balloon sinuplasty" (think angioplasty for the sinii; I can't remember the full medical term) surgery performed to clear the blockages. I was told everything went according to plan.

This was under general anesthesia - they weren't joking when they said I'd be out within 30s of starting the IV.

I'm currently not experiencing any pain (likely the pain-killer given during the procedure) although I am a little out of it. Actually given my typing I'm quite a bit out of it... :)

I asked the post-op nurse why I felt like I've been crying - turns out when they put me under they smeared some lubricant on my eyes and taped them shut to prevent them from drying out (no blinking while under). I learn something new every day.

I'm back at my buddy D's and vegging and looking forward to how I'll feel tomorrow.

Only downside I can think of right now is I can't engage in "strenuous exercise" for 2-4 weeks so there go the bike rides... :)
