Blue Feather It's all about Illusions 110239 Curiosities served |
2006-04-06 9:11 PM So Far So Good Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) So I'm about to wind up my second week at my new job as a copywriter for big pharma.
Sure wish I had stuff to do. I know, I know, "be careful what you wish for" - probably in a few weeks I'll be dying for some down-time. But right now, I have NOTHING to do. I've cut and pasted some copy from one brochure into another, I've written a few paragraphs for a sales piece, and I've been to lots of meetings where I sit and look interested and try to understand what's going on. That's about it. Most of my days are spent researching the drugs/diseases I'm working on, playing solitaire on my palm or trying to look busy while surfing our intranet for company info. Kinda frustrating, but hey, they're paying me for it. And it beats the fuck out of working till 10pm without dinner, or dealing with stinky old men, or wanting to hide under my bed until nighttime every day because I can't deal with all the psychos and assholes I've had to put up with. In fact, it's a nice company with nice people who are friendly and helpful and have happy hour every Thursday afternoon in the lounge area near my cube. I may not get free drugs working for a pharma ad agency, but at least they give us booze once a week. And I've been getting out before 6pm! So, all in all, it could be a lot worse. Here's hoping it won't be. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
