So, this isn't the big entry with photos from our trip. Too tired for that, and today was spent trying to find a nice place to have breakfast where we wouldn't have to wait FOREVER, procuring foodstuffs for our kitchen, hating people really a lot, hating driving and paved roads really a lot, doing final edits on short story, cleaning our filthy pit house and unpacking, not in that order.

Whew. All those things are done and a proper entry is in the works -- that's the good news.

We watched ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO tonight, which, it turns out, was filmed in San Miguel de Allende -- so we spent most of the movie marveling at the seamless editing that made one part of town look like it was right next to, or very far away from, another part of town that it wasn't actually.

I'll probably even tell the story tomorrow of how we barely made it home. Or how our giant metal bust of a fictional character barely made it home. But yes, tomorrow it will be for any of that. I'm off to bed now and to finish BANGKOK 8, which will mark the end of the holiday. It was a good one, and I don't think it's ever felt so odd to come home from anywhere. But it is nice to be here, even with the drama of someone having tossed a brick through our next door neighbor's bedroom window last night. Eek.
