Plain Banter . . . lies about science fiction, and everything else. When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer |

2004-01-29 9:05 PM The Monthly Grind We're nearing the end of another month, so it's time for me to write another column for the Plain Banter section of my website. I've been doing a monthly column fairly regularly for about nine years now, even before I had the website. Some of them are better than others.
I wonder, are the monthly columns still necessary? I mean, with this blog, isn't that enough? Small doses of words more often. Perhaps. But I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up the monthly column yet, and there are probably some regular visitors to Brain Planet who might check in once a month to see what's new, but aren't going to follow a blog like this day-to-day. For those folks, maybe I should continue the monthlies, with topics that require a few more words than would fit in a daily (mostly) blog. OK, genius, so what are you gonna write about this month?
