Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing. |

2004-02-03 9:21 PM Step by Step It's a process. Weeding out what doesn't work, playing with possibilities, auditioning talented characters for the slots available. Leading man: rugged. Or maybe sympathetic. No, Type A personality. A real Alpha hero. Oh, those are SO out. Go with a Beta male, they are more in touch with life around them.
And on and on it goes. So tomorrow (at some point), I'm going to spend an hour, in fifteen minute increments, working on my "it" Male for the novel. Each fifteen minutes will be a different type, have a different job, look different, sound different. Hey, I've done comedy improv. What is writing, other than honing improv skills, picking the best lines from the plethora available? I'm beginning to think the hero is the cause of my dilemma. Oh, and the bad poetry that the heroine was writing. Uh unh. Scratch that. Just doesn't feel right, somehow. I mean, how many women over thirty do YOU know who write poetry and try to get it published? (I mean, yeah I write poetry, but it is dying when I do! No Emily Dickensonian fame for me, thank you.) What am I trying to say? I'm exhausted, and I'm not writing. I'm a writer who's not writing. So, in the long run, what does that make me? 'Boring' comes to mind...there goes that comedy improv mind again. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
