My girlfriend from the 4th grade, Wendy, came to stay with me yesterday. She was here just for the afternoon and night, and left about twenty minutes ago now I guess. Gosh, was it good to see her!

I was busy most of the day, cooking, or baking, or picking up the boys, or whatever, but we got some good chat time in. Not enough, of course, but then is it ever enough?

It was Wendy's first time meeting the boys and hubby. Luckily everyone was on their best behavior, and left a favorable impression all around. A good time was had, even if the quiche didn't quite jell enough to eat last night. It was delicious for breakfast!

Also fielded a call from my BIL yesterday. An SOS for help with the house that needs cleaning out. So we're going to head out to AZ this Friday, probably, and stay until the 23rd. There's lots of work to be done there. And perhaps I'll get to see some people over there, too, that I keep missing when I'm there. So we'll see. But all of a sudden this week has become slammed. Everything I would normally do next week I'll have to do this week, since I won't be home next week to do it. So. Hmmm. Lots of lists to make and stuff to do.

And baking. But since we won't be around, there goes the pottery gift idea. We didn't do a bisque or glaze fire last weekend, and we won't be here to do it this weekend. Bummer on that level. They'll have to be january presents!

So. A deep breath, and then on to the work that must be done...
