Had an awesome write this morning, spent about an hour going over the first 5 chapters, worrying about the level of detail, etc. etc. Finally got into the writing part, and spent the next couple hours writing 7 pages, plus going back and adding detail to earlier sections (mostly plot points I needed to substantiate, character quirks, etc).

Finally done, I pack up, get to my minivan, hop in, and back out to go home. Make it, actually, to the shopping center next door to where I was (less than 100 yards) when I notice my car does *not* feel right. I pull into a parking space on the edge of the lot, walk around - and my right rear tire is flatter 'n roadkill.

To make a long story short, I ended up taking the van in to get the tire fixed. Not only was it unfixable, 2 of my other 3 tires needed replacing as they were all over 5 years old. Ahem.

So there went $300 - I ended up buying 4 lower end tires instead of matching 3 to the one that was higher end. As the guy said, the car has over 250K miles on it - the lower end tires should last longer than the van. (Well - we'll see. This will be the 3rd time we've gotten lower end tires because the car will die before too long.)

As hubby said, we'll be eating lots of free breakfast in Paris...but safety first.
