Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing. |

2005-03-20 9:33 PM Fooling myself About a lot of things, actually. One of which is, that I can act.
Yes, act. Sigh. A friend of mine, who's only known me in my non-acting days, has asked me to be in a scene from As You Like It (Shakespeare, for the uninitiated) for the celebration of Shakespeare's birthday over at the Huntington Gardens. (Yes, for the price of entry into the gardens on that day, you can see me act. Poor you.) We had our first rehearsal today. (After I went to a LARA meeting - which I shouldn't have done, because I was sick - but, you know, we moms (heck - we women) talk ourselves into stuff we shouldn't do all the time.) But anyway. We had our first rehearsal today, and I sucked. If there had been a camera in the room, you'd have heard the suction sounds. You'd have seen the hugely overacting. Difficult to do when you only have about six lines, and everyone else has a gajillion. Okay, maybe it's just that three people on a stage are a recipe for a straight line. Or maybe it's just that when you're the one without a lot to say, there's a tendency to start mugging because you don't know what the hell to do with yourself. At any rate, mugging did I do. But the thing I'm most proud of, is I wasn't apologetic about it. AT ALL. We don't actually perform until late April; this was my first acting rehearsal in over ten years. I'm allowed to be a bad actor in those circumstances. Especially since I was sick. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
