Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

A book in a month?

Pages Written... 13.5
Listening to... Hubby on guitar

Wrote today at B&N, because of the car. Which, luckily, didn't end up costing the earth! But we're still on deathwatch because, well, the darn thing's 15 years old and has 258K miles on it.

But we may have a line on a used car. Stay tuned.

The new way of plotting seems to be working. I'm still 'discovering' stuff about my story, and not stifled from the previous plotting action. Au contraire, my plotting has expanded my vision and is enabling me to be bold, while still knowing where my story is going. Plotting, I'm finding, rocks. And may in the end be my favorite part of writing - nah. That's still putting words in my characters' mouths, I'm thinking. Which still makes me think I should write screenplays, since I write damn good dialog if I say so myself. But...heck, I'm too old. In this youth-loving culture, a 45 y/o woman is WAY too old to be a hip screenwriter.

Anyway.

I'm thinking I'm going back to 40 pages a week, and see if I can't pound out most of this puppy in five weeks. It's much more Desire-ish. And even if I don't finish it before Nationals, at least it'll be 90% complete and I can pitch it with confidence. Once I, you know, actually write up a pitch for it. Sigh.

Looking forward to the weekend. We're heading down to San Juan Capistrano for the Swallows Cup Soccer Tournament. The team is staying at a hotel down there, just a mile from the fields. We're leaving right after elder son's first day of finals, which ends at 12:30p.

Ah...swimming pools, kids, Father's Day...oh heck, it's Father's day. Luckily all hubby wants is a tie picked out by the kids. Must remember to take them off to Ross or Target...
