Listening to... Buffy: The Album

Yesterday was HOT. I gathered the kids and enough peanut butter sandwiches to feed a third world country and set out for the beach. Not any beach - Rincon. A long, straight strip of sand littered with driftwood. Lots of safe parking, too, off an access road well below US 101. A tad north of Emma Wood State Beach. Our little slice of nirvana.

There are no riptides at Rincon. It is wide ocean, no channels or bays or piers to disturb the surf. It's flat ocean floor, no rocks to hurt your toes and very few shells. You can wade out for what seems like forever and still keep your feet on the ground and your head above water. The waves don't want to kill you.

I waded. I swam. I dove. I frolicked in the surf all by myself, the boys not far away. The days' sweat, lost. Forgotten in the sea.

Best of all, the words came back. Between swims and walks and a potato chip or two, they came back.

Life is good.

Christine's New Chapter Never look down... DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.
