Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

ZOOM goes the weekend

The last two mornings I happened to be extremely productive, whipping my first chapter into shape and starting on chapter two. Straight from writing, hubby and I headed out to rehearsal for SHREW - another fun and productive time.

It's interesting. Twenty years ago, I would have shared my opinions on everything to everyone in rehearsal. What they should be doing, what doesn't work, etc. etc. I also would have been very aware of how I looked, nervous about my work, and not as confident as I pretended to be.

Now, twenty years on, I keep my opinions to myself (heck, I'm not directing) and could care less about how I look, as long as I look appropriate for the work. I'm real comfortable in my skin now, even with being slightly overweight. A nice bit of maturing that I'm happy with, if a tad surprised at the discovery. Gods, I was such a snot when I was younger, lol!

Saturday we finished rehearsal early in Pasadena, and dashed over to BevMo! for their wine tasting. Nothing spectacular, but a fun way to spend some time.

I'd decided to have friends over Saturday night for dinner...nosh dinner, though, just appetizers, nothing I had to work too hard to prepare, and everyone brought something. We had seven of us, lots of food, lots of wine, lots of laughter and an outdoor fire and joy in each other's company under the stars.

Last night we also ate outside, the house still somewhat holding the heat of the day. Quieter, it just being the family, but nice. Great steaks and salad and potatoes and wine and joking with the boys.

The weekend zipped by too fast, but it was a lovely one, indeed.

School starts Wednesday. We're hitting the beach again today...sucking the last bit of freedom from summer before the autumn routine sets in. I'm always a bit happy AND a bit sad when school starts, but time marches on.
