Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Exhausted

Had an emotional rollercoaster weekend. Work - we're still short a manager, and it's stressful to say the least being one of the bosses. Even though I still get two days off, I find I'm working a lot of overtime and am just exhausting myself.

Saturday was one of those days. I got home about 5:30, took a brief nap and then just lazed about. Just before dinner, the phone rang - my Dad was about to be admitted to the hospital - his vital signs were dangerously low.

Sunday I had to go to work - but couldn't keep it together. My dad is never sick. Never in the hospital. Ever. So with the blessings of my co-workers, I took off for home, grabbed youngest son and needed stuff, and went down to San Diego to see my father.

An up and down visit with him - he was doing better, but also had verbal diarreah - I've never heard him garrolous before, and in a loud voice to boot. We stayed with him for two hours before we headed back to his house to spend the night.

The next morning brought a scare - a wispy spot on his lung that the docs weren't sure what it was. He got a cat scan, but before that could be read the pulmonary specialist came by and told him the spot was probably a result of some pain med he's taking for his right knee - arthritis. ALL of his symptoms could, possibly, be traced back to that medication.

The doc is going to talk to the other doc and get him off that script but - oh my. Talk about the ups and downs. We left him around 2pm, after the cat scan but before the pulmonary visit - got back up here by 5. I was napping when the call came in that he's lung cancer free (because that's what Dad immediately thought it was). Yay!

So - sigh. Went to kung fu last night, let out some steam, but then got home so physically tired.

And the work week starts up again this afternoon.

Writing? What's that, again? I was going to write this morning over at coffee bean, but the thought of getting into the car just wasn't appealing - even though the drive would be three minutes or so, and not three hours...
