I've started a new job this week that I WILL juggle with my writing.

I'm now working in fire safety. Fire has no conscience. It doesn't care if you're educated or not, wealthy or not, happy or not. It devours. It is an implacable enemy that doesn't give a damn about you. It's silent, sneaky, and will take only four minutes from ignition to flashover to devour your home. The people who have seen flashover? They're all dead. Very few people think that fire can happen to them. Until, of course, it does.

The company that I work for has a goal - to reduce the 5,000+ fire-related deaths each year that happen in America.

I think it's a damn fine goal. I've been in training all week, plus I sent out a novel query this morning. I am multi-tasking my careers, and I'm freaking brilliant at it.
