Working way too many hours this week, unsettling my writing routine as well as my household chores routine. (Don't snicker; I AM trying to maintain my household. At the very least with laundry and changing the sheets.)

Sigh.

The heat, too, has been unwelcome. I forget, summer to summer, how I hide in my dark office with the window a/c on, trying to concentrate enough to write. Maybe getting up at 5am every day is the best way to go forward with the writing.

Work is changing up - my manager is leaving to another store, and she's put me in the future file for a full time position at my request. I dearly need a full time job. Even a book contract wouldn't change that at this time. If they would move the current ASM up to manager, and slot me back in as ASM, that would be nifty, keep continuity going, and make both me and the current ASM happy. We work well together - and she would make a fabulous manager whereas I would not. The other two leads just aren't ready for the ASM position in my opinion.

After a year and a half away from it, I'm ready to take the job on again. Writing at 5am is one way to make sure I can do both.

We shall see what the month brings - our manager leaves at the end of July.
