Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

You see, it's like this...

So. I wasn't sure how much to share, even though this blog is somewhat anonymous...but most of my closest friends now know, and most of my family knows. Funnily enough, few writer friends know the blog exists (and I'm glad for that) and even fewer family members know. BUT...since I've mentioned it here in the past, I figured I should put it out there for enquiring minds.

There's, like, this thing sitting on my auditory nerve (think inner ear but really, REALLY a part of the brain). It's causing me to not be completely steady, physically, ever. Plus, hello, going deaf to vocal frequencies in that ear. (Makes for difficult conversations, lol.)

It's slow growing. Benign. There are a few surgical options, and living where I do with the insurance I have, I'll have the best working on me, though I'm sure there are drawbacks to all the options available. So once I finally get the approval to meet with the specialists (I think they're called neuro-otologists, but I'm not sure as my ear/nose/throat guy has terrible handwriting - though he is an excellent doctor), I'll be able to sift through those options.

In the meantime, it's a waiting game again. But at least it's treatable, it's not cancer, and it's 2010, not 1980. All in all, with everything it COULD have been, this is really the best case scenario.

Really.

Brain tumor. Can you get less sexy than that??? I turn 50 and start to fall apart...and that part is less than funny. So watch me as I work out daily (yoga! low impact aerobics!), eat healthier (more veggies! less meats!), and try to cut my wine consumption down (again). Well...some you never win at...
