Christine's New Chapter

Once you go to UCLA Medical Center for ANYTHING it seems (but I may be wrong about that), you are assigned a Permanent Personal Record Number. It's yours for the rest of your life.

I find that both comforting and itchy. Why would I want a permanent personal record number? It seems invasive.

But, anyway. I do have an appointment next week with the UCLA Neuro-otological Surgeon I've been referred to, so that's nice. Too bad it costs $11 to park (!!). Well, after all, it IS in Westwood.

I'm hoping to get all my questions answered and hammer out the plan for dealing with this thing. Then I won't be feeling quite so nervous about the future. I think.

Aw, hell. I'll be nervous no matter what I decide to do about this thing in my head. I just want to get on the other side of dealing with it.

After the appointment, I'm thinking maybe we'll go to the museum. Or maybe to the beach, and have lunch at Gladstone's (the food has improved immensely, from what I've read in the LA Times).

At any rate, it's going to be an interesting day.
