After work this afternoon, I had to go to Home Depot to pick up some chlorine remover for my fish pond, as the water was dangerously low and filling it not easy when you have to let the water sit for so long for the chlorine to evaporate.

But before I found the de-chlorinator, I found spinach. And broccoli. And lettuces...all fall slash winter garden vegetables here in So Cal.

I was tempted.

I even put some spinach in my cart. And then I remembered...I am in no shape, currently, to plant. Not if I expect the damned things to live, that is. I have a ton of work to do clearing out the summer crop that disappointed. (My tomatoes never did ripen. But they fed the critters in the neighborhood...birds and possums and so forth...) I've got a novel to finish editing, another to write, and a play to finish writing. Plus, hello. Surgery in the fairly near future. Buying those plants today would have been tossing money away.

So, instead, I bought a bunch of skin care products at the grocery store that promise to make me look years younger. As if. And, of course, those products cost me a damn sight more than a couple four packs of spinach plants. I'm just hoping I'm not tossing my money away, and that I'll look years younger...at least in the eyes of hubby, who needs glasses anyway...lol!

I gotta say, I love my life! Lack of spinach plants, tumor, pricey moisturizers and all...
