My youngest son has a girlfriend. He's 17, she'll be 16 in a week or so. He lights up when he talks about her - like he's just bursting with all this newness.

Since we're "friends" on Facebook, I checked out his profile - and saw two of the sweetest love poems that he'd written in the past couple of days. He is swimming in the power of love, and it's exciting and yeah, a bit scary, to watch. I wonder now if he'll want to go to Prom, if he'll want to do some of the senior activities this year since she's still a sophomore.

We'll see. He's been invited to have dinner at her house with her family on Sunday - and they live in the neighborhood! It's all kind of squee and knots in my stomach right now. And I suppose that will always be the case.

I'm running behind on my editing. I know I just need to plow through and get it done, but this one huge scene is causing me problems. I'm thinking now I should just toss it, since this character's POV isn't in the book at all any more.

But...hubby got a day player part in a new comedy for Comedy Central that will air next summer. He's bringing home lobster and chardonnay...and we'll have dinner as a family, a commodity in short supply this past week.

Family, and love, and new opportunities. Life is warm and cozy and really, really good!
