I am in the middle of a learning curve. I've finally digested the fact that my short story cannot be stretched into a novel while keeping the main elements. It just won't happen. So I'm plotting from scratch again, using Holly Lisle's method, and it's been quite eye-opening. My hero isn't as boringly staid as I had originally thought him to be!

This plot process will take time as my brain needs to adjust to the new possibilities of the storyline - dragging along info from book one, and laying the seeds for stuff that happens in book three. But as I'm waiting for edits anyway, I've got the time to play which is such a relief!

I'm also realizing a project close to my heart needs some major rewrites - the YA boys' novel that I wrote. The last half is fantastic, the beginning, not so much. So there's work to be done on that one, as well.

Oh well, I've always known that fiction writing is a profession that one must continuously learn.
