Just a quick update. I'm doing very well (surgery apparently took 11 hours) and they're kicking me out of here tomorrow. I refused to leave today, lol!

Vicodin is my best friend - it manages the pain and lets me be coherent. I can write on the computer without my eyes going blooey. I'm finding strips of tape in strange places on my body, and I still get dizzy if I move my head too fast. I have facial weakness on my right side, but they didn't touch the facial nerve - as the swelling around that area goes down, the face should remarkably improve (though I can grin with the best of them - a little lopsided).

It feels like someone forcibly shoved a golf ball into the side of my jaw - which is an improvement, as yesterday it felt like a baseball.

I have a long way to go before I'm "normal", but I'm on the way and I can't complain.

And on the bright side - I've just learned that my book release will be in March, 2011! We still don't have a name for it, but that's okay...

I'll update more tomorrow, once I'm home and clean. Oh, for a real bathtub!
