Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Exercise Limbo

The fibula didn't show any new bone growth this past month. So in therapy, I'm learning to stretch and stress - veeerrrry sloooowly stretch the ligaments in my ankle, and very gently stress the bone by jarring it. Sounds painful and bad - its not either. While sitting, I lift my leg up with both hands under my knee, just a couple inches - then let go. The reverberations go right up the bone. (And I'm wearing shoes.)

Bone, you know, grows when stressed. Which is why we need to lift weights and walk firmly, even as we get older. But the fibula bone? It's a non-weight bearing bone. So the stress has to come from something other than walking, and I'm not up to running yet.

So - still dizzy at times, the bone's not healed (but I'm in an ankle brace now instead of the boot), and I have to take stretching at a snail's pace. This puts me firmly in exercise limbo, since I'm not the most patient person in the world. I think this is the first time, ever, that in order to get into good physical shape, it's going to take me a year or possibly two, instead of the three to five months it used to take.

In other news, the second book is almost done and I'm in revision hell now (without having an ending, sigh). Want to get this turned in by the end of October - we'll see.

The book, and taxes due on the 15th - this will be a busy month.

Oh, and if you're in the market for yummy breakfast - check my other, "public" blog out - it's where I don't get too serious about really anything, lol!
