So, in my play, I've got this pastor - not Catholic, I'm keeping him undefined, but he's a man of the cloth who's been married. Somewhere along the way, he lost his faith in God - two of the parishioners he was counseling committed suicide six months ago, and his wife left him two months ago. He's on sabbatical trying to figure out his life.

I guess what I want to know is, what does it mean to lose - and regain - your faith? How does this man, with no flock to lead, no wife, no kids and no faith - how does he get it back?

I am not an "organized religion" type of girl, but this character won't leave me alone - and is the perfect foil for the girl in the play (who's flat out crazy). I know what his arc is with respect to her - but I don't know his faith arc. Or maybe I'm over-thinking it?

And so the play remains un-revised.
