Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Book 2 turned in...

So, I turned in DEMON HUNT - the-book-that-would-not-die - last Sunday, the 15th of January as I had hoped. Woot!

Heard back from my editor - she won't even be able to open the file until the middle of February. Sigh. Okay. i'm a big girl, I can handle it.

And then I realized, if I worked quickly, I could have book 3 ready to go before she had finished edits on book 2. Cool idea! So I'm working now on book 3 (that ISN'T contracted) and hope they bite. If they don't take it, then heck - I'll put it out myself.

So there's that.

In other news, the hubby is working again as background talent on BREAKING IN, the Christian Slater TV show on Fox that this year is also starring Megan Mullaly from Will & Grace. He got 4 days work last week - this is a Good Thing. Hopefully that will continue until the season ends in April - and hopefully they'll move him up to a stringer (a character that has a name, speaks, is recognizable but is really 9th banana on the set). Keep your fingers crossed!

The sons are doing well. Youngest is having fun with his buddies and is taking a full college load (16 units); the oldest should finally graduate this spring from his 2 year college, and hopefully he'll get accepted into the CSU he's applied to for the fall. We shall see.

In other news...attacked my 401K again, unfortunately. Need to pay off the absurd HELOC that was interest-only payments (can you say STUPID???) and the hubby's car as well. We need to get as debt free as possible - just in case our personal world goes to hell in a hand basket.

But the job is going well. i'm getting writing in DURING work hours - woo! - and they really like me, so that's something. Aside from the irrational tax issue the company is having with the City of Los Angeles, we seem to be a healthy, privately-owned company. Alleluia, is all I can say.

Oh, and I have a short play that may actually go somewhere. Wrote one from a Grimm's Faerie Tales story, to fit into an evening of 4 other short Grimm plays, all original and "based on" not a line-reading type play. Should be interesting - hope it actually gets up on its feet this year, that would be VERY cool.

Okay - I think that pretty much brings things up to date. Cheers all...!
