CREDO was shot on the new Canon XL-2, a revision of the XL-1, the camera that every low-budget indie filmmaker had to have a few years ago.

One of the nice things about the XL-2 is its ability to easily shoot a widescreen picture with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Since the main character in CREDO is God, this seemed like a good idea.

Most of CREDO was written in iambic pentameter.

One of the nice things about iambic pentameter is its ability to convey the natural rhythms of conversational English while assigning form, rhythm, and rhyme a much-higher-than-usual value than you'd find in the average short film screenplay. Since the main character in CREDO is God, this seemed like a good idea.

Small sections depart from this scheme, alluding informally to Orthodox Jewish prayer or following a strict AABB iambic tetrameter pattern, known more popularly in the US as "Oh, it's Doctor Seuss!" As so:

I will not with a burning sword!
I will not as a vengeful Lord!
I will not on a mystic hill!
I will not! will not! say to kill!

Since the main character in CREDO is God...

This just really seemed like a good idea.

An "iamb" is two syllables with emphasis that goes da-DUH!. Pentameter means there are five of them in each line. So, for instance: I'd like to tell you now a-bout our film, or I'd like to send some dough to Jour-nal-scape.
