2010-01-27 8:11 AM I am not lost It is Wednesday, halfway through the work week, not halfway through the work. Taking a mini break. I have found that my work goes faster if I do this periodically and I make a greater headway with fewer headaches.
Last night we bought a boxspring and mattress-finally. Sunday morning at 4am my hubby and I woke up almost on the floor, our air mattress sprung a leak. Hubby reinflated the mattress, he stayed up, I layed back down. 2 hours later, I was back on the floor. I got up, we went to Wal-mart cause he insisted we couldn't afford a real mattress set yet-so we got another air mattres. Well, this one is not really meant to hold our weight. It doesn't have a leak, but it doesn't stay inflated well. Mattress Warehouse had coupons and there is a warehouse near us-within walking distance. So after work yesterday we went. Laid down on several mattresses, including luxury model. Had coupon, got half off, will have delivery Thursday, Friday or Saturday- Hubby works from home Thursday and Friday and we are not going out Saturday. (forcasts of snow Friday night to Saturday and they are not able to say how much yet-I want another large dump!!!!!-after I get my bed!!!) I reminded my husband that now I can get my cat(or kitten. We only have $200 left in our accounts till pay day or until the FSA check comes in, but that is ok. It will be great to sleep on a real bed again-except for trips to IL, it has been about 2 years since we have slept on real mattress!!!! Next furniture purchase will be a living room set. We need a good couch/sleeper before Christmas next year. We may get a bedroom set too. On the crochet front-last week I was too sick to go to the normal meeting, but they still met. I found out that one of the ladies is trying a new pattern and is having problems with it. I am not sure if the women are enthused about the shawls for the shelter idea after all. I am thinking about another idea that I have read about-when police have to report to a crime scene or domestic abuse scene where children are involved, the children are upset and it helps to have something for the children-a blanket, a stuffed toy something to cuddle. Maybe that would get them enthused again. I need to get enthused about it too. I am working on baby afghan for my daughter to give a coworker who is expecting a baby boy in March. I am using a stitch from the Linus blanket group-the diagonal or crazy stitch. It is solid light blue with a white stripe diagonal at the center. I am working on the decrease half. I will then border it with the white-a shell stitch border. I also need to make a baby afghan for her best friends sister. That family has helped my daughter a lot while I have been here in DC. The moma to be has had 2 miscarrages and is now far enough along that if something were to happen, the baby has a fighting chance. It is a boy too, I saw a pattern on a baby boucle yarn that I am going to try, it is a striped afghan. Well, thats it for now. Talk later.
