Well, it looks like my manager is going to approve my vaca time after all! Just have to give him updates of all projects on my desk before Friday. Uh, duh!!! And one that I thought was a real bust turns out really isn't-same info just a slightly condensed version-was really messing me up though. Even though I said I could stay home, I am really glad that I am going. I want to see DD, DGD, & SIL. DD&SIL are signing on a new house tonight-or did they do it last night. 2 bedroom cottage in town just outside city where they now live. Same school district so DGD has choice of staying in same school for rest of year and will do so. Next year is middle school and she knows kids where she will be going so it will be easier to transition then. House is smaller, but DD is realizing that bigger houses mean more housework and upkeep and unless you can afford to pay for it, it is hard. This house sounds darling. Unfortunately, the closing may not be done before we get there so we won't stay there-we will get to see it though.

Busy at work, getting end of fiscal year spreadsheets done. Head of division is visiting so everybody is in suits. Funny to see them put on the dog and cart act.

We have a new employee in the group and when I was introduced to him, I gave him my normal handshake. He commented on "good handshake". I returned "Army". His manager said, Oh yeah, she's a veteran too.
