2011-05-03 2:51 PM Discoveries Have you ever had your spouse tell you something that made you stop in your tracks and say "you don't know that?"
DH did that about a basic fact of our religion-I am saying ours because he is instigating the reading etc. This fact is something the young men learn, and something I could have sworn that he was taught many years ago. I had to look it up because it does concern mainly the men. And on Saturday we had a deep discussion about it. On Saturday we did some different reading, and he learned more that I thought he knew already....So all those Sundays where was his brain? It wasn't with us as a family. Somehow, I know it is going to get harder before it gets easier. Even though he is willing to turn off the tv at 9 and we go to the table together to read, I am expecting some fuss soon. But we will see what happens. I did tell him that this had to be for him, not for me. I miss attending church. Saturday, speaking to the friend who called with belated birthday wishes, brought it home to me. I miss going for the spiritual feeding but also for the companionship. I don't do the crochet group I was doing and I miss that too-though it was my choice to stop it for awhile. It appeared that I was the only one doing the crocheting for charity projects and the stress was too high. But to meet with women on a regular basis, and talk, share feelings is needed. That is why quilting bees were so popular!! Females need that society, apparently more than men do! I am still working on the baby afghan-about halfway done the body. It is ok, but not the prettiest thing I have made. I think that I would like to make a knitted one, but have too much with dh's sweater to do that right now.
