I was here yesterday. I have come to realize that I cannot do two jobs at the same time and do them both well. Yesterday was a bit of a madhouse. Everytime I started to do my timekeeping for my normal job, I had to do something for the other secretarial position. Oh boy. Or the phone would ring or something. Or I had to go to my normal staff meeting. Last night when I left, I told my mentor, I cannot do both jobs at the same time for extended time. She smiled and said 'yup'.

It is not normally expected that both jobs be done. However, the person who likes giving me additional assignments doesn't realize that I can't automatically get someone to cover the secretary's desk and do another assignment at her whim. And she sets 3 day deadlines, I have pushed back at those. She doesn't like it much, but unless she can give me a good reason, tough.

I am glad it is Friday. I don't expect the other secretary to be back on Monday. Though she is suppose to be. Talk to you later. I will be trying to meet the deadlines.
