Today is the "Holiday Party" that the Division Front Office puts on. This is the one B and I are not going to. Well, my old boss just walked in the door. I thought I heard a rumour he was going to be here. Usually retirees don't come in the following year. But he did. And my stomach reacted. Oh, boy. Now I know where it came from. He's not a bad guy, pleasant, nice to all appearances, but underneath there is a mean streak. Too much anger and spite. Comments like, "it's your office now" when he was invited to look at the changes the new 'owner' made; and the snide, "your office is the same mess" to my current boss reminded me of what is wrong with that type of personality. I am glad that I do not have him as a boss any more!!!!

On the good side, my current boss gave me a $25 gift card to Star Bucks for Christmas. Shocked me. That is the max a manager may give his employees. And definately more than the old boss did last year-box of candy was my gift. Now, I don't go to Starbucks very often, but I will find a use for the card. I may regift it to my DD since that is something she loves. But it is the idea that he took the time to get something. We are not out to eat as a group-no time. He only works in town 3 days a week, as does 2 others in the group, and 2 others aren't even in the same city!

A new evaluation cycle starts for me too. A new year. A new time to grasp. This will be good.
