2012-01-12 2:31 PM It Came Ok, It is the second round of buy-outs. News just hit that our division was definately in the running to get some offers.
Letters went out today. And I got one. Via email. Have to submit paperwork by 1/27. Retirement would be effective 2/28. There would be a buyout of up to $25000. They even gave an example of how to calculate your approximate buyout. I would qualify for the max. (minus what I owe back in advance sick leave.) I believe everyone in my grade and job series got one. That is how it usually works. The most important thing we do is time input and meeting notes and supplies order. The division secretaries can do most of that. Time input is becoming self input with managerial overview (non bargaining employees HAVE to input their own time effective Sunday). I calculated what my annuity would be-about half of what my salary is now. A bit of a drop in income. I would need to do some kind of job, however, my health would probably improve tremendously. And doc has been wanting me to retire. DH started talking about me moving to IL and him getting an efficiency apartment. Not going to happen. So this may be a case of what can the budget bear. We can make it on his salary-it will be tight, but it is possible. I a probably could get a part time job or work my crafts the way I need to. To be mentally and physically healthy again. We will see what happens... lots of discussions. If B takes over the health insurance, it will be better. So little time to decide. Read/Post Comments (6) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
