Well, I am not covering the other desk today. The secretary is in-though she probably should not be! She is sick. Of course I have to sit at that desk for her lunch!!

Anyway, yesterday afternoon there was an email sent to myself and one of my coworkers wanting to know if interested in working in a new unit-administrative type-temp promotion, doing the secretary's job full out. I said yes. The co-worker said no.

This type of offer is usually offered out to the general group, not by this type of email, but it seems like they are doing it different. I do hope I get it as it seems like the new office is "shopping" for a potential secretary that will fit the unit. I know the type of work the unit will be doing-was trained in that area. I know the secretary's job and can figure out what I don't know. Running calendars and travel and supply and budgets are not the hardest things-keeping them on track are not hard. The bood on me here is not as bad as it was, reliability is better, health is getting better, the fact that the offer was made is a good sign. Fingers are crossed. Detail would pay grade 8 pay, with possibility of job opening permanently.
