2012-05-01 8:02 AM Catch up Another year older!! (well only 1 day)
Saturday was an interesting day. i was supposed to get my licsense renewed. Did not happen-my choice. DMV would not accept credit card bill and my retirement statement and check from District court with my correct address on it. They want a current lease or utility bill. Uh, not available. I hit the roof, they changed their requirement and their website. Three items, with full name and address, no good, and two were from government agencies. I don't drive in DC. I have let my driver's licsense lapse. When I need one, I will get one. B did get me a Kindle and a $50 Amazon card for e-books, a dual chargerl, and a cover for the Kindle. I still haven't hooked it up or set up the Kindle account. For Saturday dinner we went to Pogo de Chao. A brazilian Barbeque. And the salad bar was simply the best! I ate a bite of everything that looked good. And sometimes two bites!! Smokes salmon, Italian ham, cheeses, heart of palm, asparagus, marinated mushroom caps, greek parsley salad, spanish olives, dried tomatoes in olive oil, red and yellow peppers in oil, baby mozzarella balls in olive oil, YUM!!! Then the meats started! oh wow!! The only thing that didn't taste good was the lamb. For some reason, the seasoning was off. It happens., but everything else was great. and then the dessert. yes, I left room for a light dessert-papaya cream with cassis. When B made the reservations, he told them it was a birthday-and they guessed mine. So, he confirmed it at the table. No singing of happy birthday. thank goodness! However, when they brought my dessert, the waiter put a cut strawberry in the middle with a candle in it. and happy birthday was written in decorative cake gel on the plate. AWWWWWWW! The weekend went well. B was more upset about the DMV than I am. Driving is not a big thing for me. I haven't driven in DC in over 3 years. I kept my old licsense as picture ID. Shingles caused h**l sleeping Sunday night which triggered migraine Monday morning. My sleeping position definately triggers migraine!!! The med I am on for shingles causes me to go a little loopy by the afternoon (3rd dose of day) and if I combine it with Tylenol 3 it gets really bad-I don't do that anymore!! By bedtime I am absolutely bonkers. But the Shingles are getting better. just achy underneath, and that I can live with. One thing that hit me nicely was how hard B worked this weekend. He was upset Saturday evening because the taxi didn't show up on time. I told him to chill, that everything was all right. And he made this statement, " You deservere everything to be perfect for you today. And it hasn't been." I said, "Who said I deserve the universe to be perfect for me?" B replied,"The universe should be perfect for you today, It's your birthday. Today should be perfect for you." I was floored. He wanted the day to be perfect for me. What I wanted. Not what he wanted, not for 'us'. But for me alone. That was the best gift. And we all know that there are no perfect days, right. just real close ones.
