Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me. 2003-10-01 3:59 PM female road rage I'm sitting here thinking about something that happened when I was in college. I was going to college in New York and spending Thanksgiving Weekend with friends. It was snowing and three us were on our way back from the grocery store with some last minute supplies. Rita, who was tall and big boned, her tiny cousin, Lee, who was my diminutive height of five foot and I was in back. A six foot ass hole male suddenly swerved in front and we had a near collison. Male and his buddies got out and came roaring up to us in full macho mode. Well, it scared Lee, but she was angry as well. She went over to them, shaking and angry and did the oddest thing. She says, "I'm a lady and you don't talk to a lady like that" It was 1976. Then she punchs the hood of
their car. Cars were still made fairly sturdy in those days and she must have had a fairly good adrenaline rush going because that tiny little 17 year old put her fist through the hood of the car. It is hard to say who was more shocked, Lee or the dudes. They hopped back in and drove off fast. We were all laughing by the time we got home. Although we had to kind of defrost the tears from Lee's face first. I wish I had never lost touch with them. ************************************************ I finally realized over the last few days while getting the last of the old meds out of my system and the new meds (I definitely do not suggest every finding yourself being forced to go cold turkey off Neurontin, topamax and Kefphra simulatenously for a lark and curse the whims of the govt, medicaid, insurance and drug companies, despite some awesome pink elephant dreams) in to my system what it was that my main antag was looking for when she was sniffing around the escarpment that got the sylvans so pissed off and have worked it in in notations. It has allowed me to tie several loose ends, threads and plotlines togethers nicely. And speculate on what vampires might taste like well roasted over an open fire.
