Cussedness Godwar Central Station LEVEL 20 ARCH-CURMUDGEON ALL HATE MAIL WILL BE POSTEDI am an out of the closet, bi-sexual gender queer and have long believed that the personal is political. Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me. I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. I made my first short story sale at 23. it appeared in Amazons! which took the World Fantasy Award for best anthology in 1980February 2004: In The Darkness Hunting: Tales of Chimquar the Lionhawk (wildside press) Dark Brothers of the Light Series. 2004-01-22 12:08 PM more Well, it's noon and I have six pages added to Children. Part of me wants to keep writing, but I need to get other things done. Maybe frustration will bring me back to writing when I'm done. I seriously dislike what I'm doing for grocery money. But I was supposed to turn it in five days ago. Sigh.
I quit worrying about whether some ten pages from two days ago worked or not and then I was able to get a good breath and decided how to tweak them a bit. I have been thinking hard about just how a medieval level kingdom would be run if the ruling class were vampires and necromancers, cannibalism. Although I've published shorts about them over the years and some of them appear in my Chimquar the lionhawk stories, a novel requires more details. Like, why don't the slaves, serfs, and villagers revolt or at least runaway to a safer kingdom. I suppose when you look at just how bloodily Rome put down the slightest whisper of slave insurrections and even the strongest slaves (think Spartacus) tended to get massively slaughtered, it seems to me that most of them would simply cower and hope the masters didn't notice them. So I'm reading more on slavery in the ancient and medieval world as well as more recent examples. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
