We all have or have had demons in our lives. Sometimes we're born with them, some times they are others living in our environment like abusive parents, other times they are inner fears and insecurities that we never entirely understand. And there are those who create their own demons.

I have been thinking and thinking about a remark made by Demonahh on my livejournal "What is this with Nicky vs. everyone". And my conclusion, at this point, is that some people create their own demons.

Nicky creates his own demons by abusing people. Some he can chase off certain sites and then other push back. Eventually the mods jump in and he's banned. But as I was taught my mama, who was a true warrior in spirit, people must fight back. Polite or even strongly spoken words are "outspoken" stances. Abuse has no place in this world.

Demonization of others is often used to shore up insecure, frightened people. People who do not feel equal in some way. It is always easier to stand on the backs of others through a process of demonization than to stand on your own two feet. It is easier to feel morally superior if you can point to someone who you can call a moral inferior, than it is to live a moral life. It is easier to blame your failures on others, than to put the extra work in to learn from those failures and go on to achieve great things.

Nicky's demonization of others, his refusal to accept that his writing is less than perfect and work to perfect it, his throwing blame around in endless persecutions and crusades against people who have paid their dues in the field--which he has not--all this is part of a pattern of not taking full responsibility for his own actions.

Demons are part of Nicky's life, but he has created them himself. I have seen it before in other people. Knowing this does not excuse his behaviors. But it makes it more understandable.

I would like to believe that he will someday work through those demons and be free of them. But I don't believe he will, simply because he shows no sign of wanting to.

If it is everyone vs Nicky, then you must admit that it was first Nicky vs. Everyone. Everyone did not go looking for Nicky until Nicky went looking for everyone in his process of demonization of others.

He says that he is a christian, well Jesus did not demonize anyone. When he said "Love thy neighbor as thy self" he did not also tack on a long list of exception to that rule.
