Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me. I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. 2004-09-28 8:41 PM Tuesday's editorial As people continue to bellyache about my reviews, I would like to tell of another writer’s works. I imagine that most people will be familiar with the works of L. M. Mongomery, if not from her novels, then from the marvelously done tv series on Disney Channel in the 90s based on them. I love both her short fiction and her novels. Her stories about Anne of Green Gables and the other people living on Prince Edward Island are magnificiently told. Every character is vivid and intense. Both the Anne books and a lesser known book, Emily of New Moon, were about young girls who wanted to be writers.
So I’m going to Emily to make the point of my reviews. She wanted to be a poet. After many adventures, the young girl finally shows her teacher, who is a published author, her scribblings. She is nervous and terrified. He reads through them and slashes them to bits, but finds fifteen good lines out of a huge stack. Needless to say, Emily is heartbroken. But then the teacher says that if at so young an age she can manage those fifteen lines, then eventually she’ll make it. END of proverb. Another thing, Nicki Piss-Off, is saying that “I am smirking because one of the contributing writers involved with Tabloid Purposes is having a field day with the numbnuts involved with trying to hurt book sales.” No doubt this is in reference to Mr. Mounts. It is up to this young man to decide whether he wishes to be treated as an equal or to be written off as a childish little boy. No one can make that decision for him. But considering what a large number of the people posting here are published authors, those who are already where I would assume Mr. Mount wishes to some day be, then he needs to reconsider his actions. In the final analysis, there remains the question of whether Mr. Mount desires to avail himself of the talents that could help him, or would rather push them away to wallow in his Nickiness.
