2004-10-23 9:43 PM Witchcraft in my blood I am a solitary, although I passed down to my son what I learned from my grandmother and great-grandmother. I also had some formal teachers from the time that I was nine years old who were of the same age as my great-grandmother. At one point in my life, my mother, my mama, and my mammy all lived in the same house with me.
It made for interesting and strange times. Much of what I practice was handed down and doesn't match what you read about in the books that places like Lewellyn publish. In a sense it was granny magic. From age nine I was trained in the mid 19th century tradition of trumpet meetings and the arts of the medium. By age 13 I could read palms, runes, and tarot cards, as well as casting spells and communing with the spirits. Some of it was spooky. a lot of it would be considered gray magic. Some might even call it black because in the way that it was taught I was allowed to defend myself and there are many and strange ways to do this. I'm starting after pigman with a rite tonight. I think that matters have gone entirely far enough to justify it.
