“The Birds of Llanaderyn”: 233 Ooookay. So far today I’ve read e-mail and journals, started the dishwasher, started the first load of laundry, cleaned out the fridge (although it really should be scrubbed, too), cleaned a litter box, and taken out the trash. All this before noon. Sheez. Back home from Spinners, where my story “The Final Magic of Katie Mullett O’Banyon” was critiqued. Although no-one actually said this, what I walked away with was the realisation that I was lazy with the story. It should be set at the turn of the century, in Victorian-ish times, not present day. I knew it should have that feel, but I know nothing about the era, so I didn’t do that. Weenie. So now it goes in the folder of stories to get back to. I do like it, and don’t want to abandon it. Just need to do some research first. I’m waffling over whether to turn in the new story or “The Birds of Llanaderyn” next month. It’ll probably be the latter; I know what the ending should be, and just need to write it. I’m not sure what to do with the ending of the new story. In fact, I may end up changing who one of the main characters is. Ack. Hmm. I’m sure I wrote more words on “Llanaderyn”, but I deleted some, so it’s hard to say. It’s finished, though, and that’s what’s important. I’m still very behind on the Dare, though. Urk. Refused to get up from the computer until I hit 500 words on AETW. Must sleep now.
