2002-07-19 11:59 PM Cracking and romping AETW: 196
Hah! Eeked out a few words last night, despite my tiredness. And I know the big exciting bit that happens in this chapter, so that’s good. So, I had my first chiro appt today. I didn’t sleep well last night, and didn’t want to get up, but I did. I got to sit in the yummy massage chair twice, which was lovely. And I got to see my x-rays. Oh dear. Dearie me. My neck not only doesn’t curve the way it should, it’s starting to curve the other way. This is Not Good. I also have a bone spur starting in the middle of my back—right where Ken always has to pop my spine, imagine that! So, I’m going to go regularly for 12 visits, and then see what I can get the insurance to cover after that. I should go for at least a year to get my neck totally back on track. It makes sense, you know, that it’s my neck causing all the problems. All of the connecting muscles are the ones that hurt, that are being pulled out of whack. So I had my first crack today. (Err, chiro crack, not drug crack.) He popped a couple of places in my back, one of which hurt. I was ready for that. I was not ready for the neck thing; it startled the bejeesus out of me. Talk about noise! Now, my neck regularly cracks (several times/day), but this was far more cracking. Holy crap, dude. But it did feel like pressure had been released. And then I got another massage, which also felt good. I’m still hurting, but less than I was. This will continue to be a good thing. I’ve mostly done computer work today, and got next month’s story mailed to Spinners. I got an honourable mention in the Satin Slippers contest, which is decent given that my heart wasn’t really in the story. Teresa won, though! I’m excited and jealous all at the same time. Her story _was_ better than mine… Ken’s bro Dennis dropped by just after Ken called me from the airport to say he was on his way. I chatted with Dennis until Ken got home, and now they’re both hanging out, so I’m updating this. I have a story I really should crit before we leave, and although I wrote a little on AETW already today, I really need to do more. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
