Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Kingdom Sciences Day

Another busy, fun day. We got up at some ungodly hour and headed to Ortega Hwy and the Roadhouse Lookout to meet up with the folks who organised the group ride. There were four bikes total. We road for about four hours, on some pretty roads in the area and down into San Diego County. I have no idea exactly where we were, as we were following someone else and I haven’t looked at a map. Up and down mountains.

After grabbing a quick lunch at Jack’s, we headed to Pasadena for Kingdom Sciences Day. We arrived, said hi to Berengere and Kuang Chi and a couple other people, then hightailed ourselves to a bathroom to get un-naked and into garb. Chatted with folks. Watched “Heraldic Jeopardy” and cheered Eilidh on (but all three contestants lost all their money). We ended up participating in the history Trivial Pursuit game, and our time (with B&KC) came in a close second. Then we sat with Eilidh and Lasairfhiona and Giuseppe and chatted. We ended up leaving a bit early, as we were tired and hungry, and went to a Thai restaurant with Eilidh. I had my usual: Tom Yung Gai (spicy lemongrass soup with shrimp), wontons (these stuffed with crab and cream cheese), and Pad Thai. And then we headed home.

This is a fairly uninspired entry, but I’m a bit sleepy. Ken’s already gone to bed (before 10 p.m.!) and I think I’ll crawl in and join him. Read for a bit. Part of me wants to write, but you know, he’s going to be gone a lot this month, and I’m going to enjoy him in my bed when I can. Read anything you like into that. :-P

Tomorrow we’ll be doing house stuff, and I do plan to get some writing done, too.
