Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

I braved postal hell this morning, and it turned out to be not so bad. So all of the boxed gifts have been mailed as well as the stories. Gifts to my parents (who will be travelling until the 1st) and foreign friends will wait until after the holidays, to avoid the mail crush.

I designed our holiday newsletter today. It was a somewhat frustrating process, because Pagemaker is an OS 9 program, and turning on OS 9 seems to slowww the compuuuter waaay dowwwn. I have some edits to make, and I need to crop one picture and replace another one, but I can do that tomorrow and get it to a photocopy place, and then deal with labels.

Other that that, I’ve been copy editing today. What thrills. But, it’s bringing in much-needed cash, and I’m happy to be contributing to the household like that.

We watched “Friends” and two more episodes of “I Love the 80s”, and ate garlic pork loin and brown rice and broccoli. And then we slept. I’ve been getting up when Ken does every day, which is earlier than my body wants to. So I’ve been tired all week—but at least I’m sleeping well.
