Ken’s going to be spending the day cutting wood and working on the outbuilding roof with Marty, so I’m gearing up for a day of work myself. Writing, copy editing (new journal to do, and since we’ll be away, I’ve got to jump on it now), taking the newsletter to the copy place, and maybe some cleaning/straightening (I’ve found two plastic crates of office supplies in the garage! Whee!). We saw Paula Poundstone in concert last night (the tickets were one of my Yule presents from Ken). She was hilarious, as to be expected. Used a couple of short routines from past shows, but mostly it was new stuff. I’d read that she was incorporating material based on her rehab stint and felony charge, and was curious to see how she’d do that. She managed to make it all funny while not downplaying the seriousness of it. Anyway, lots of fun. Loreena McKennitt’s “To Drive the Cold Winter Away” is on iTunes, fir-scented candles are burning, I’ve had a lovely cup of tea, and I’ve been writing. I’ve also copy edited three articles and thrown in laundry, and straightened a bit. Much later. Ken and Marty stopped work on the roof when it got dark, but then went shopping for the rest of the materials, and he didn’t get home until after 9 p.m. He threw on spagetti while I finished the article I was working on, and then we ate and watched “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.” Which was exactly as stupid as you’d expect, but made definitely worthwhile by the presence—in skintight leather—of Eliza Dushku. Mmmm, I could watch those scenes over and over. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
