Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

And life is good

At the Faire: 663

Busy day! But another productive one. Copy edited two articles. One looked small and was easy (no queries) until I hit the table that had to be totally redesigned. Bleah. Mitch and Anita came over to see the roof progress, and although Anita told me several times that she didn’t want to interrupt me from anything, I’ve got too much of the hostess gene to let anyone sit bored in my living room. So that threw me off my stride momentarily.

Ken and Dennis got all the beams on the roof, and we’re looking at one more day of building and then one day of gooping. (Yes, these are technical terms. They’re _my_ technical terms. I know exactly what I’m talking about!) Which is good, because Saturday we’ll be gone all day, and we’ll be away a good portion of Sunday, too, and then Ken’s back to work.

After dinner we started work on our Twelfth Night garb. I think I’ve finally got my cotehardie pattern sussed out, so I’ll be cutting tonight. Ken started on the lining of his sleeves. Both outfits are fairly simple construction-wise, and I think we’ll be able to get them done without _too_ much stress!

I also finished the erotica, “At the Faire”. I missed the deadline for the one antho, but checked at erotic-writers.com and found another one in which the story might fit even better. Heh. I still need to add about 500 words, which I’ll do today, and then get out to beta readers. (Why do I imagine beta fish? Hello, my pretty blue iridescent critiquers!)

And we even had time to sit in the hot tub and eat ice cream. What a fine end to the day!
