2003-01-02 11:59 PM It's all about rising to the occasion At the Faire: 288
BH: 388 Something I keep forgetting to mention: Ken shaved his beard off! For the first time in the 9 years I’ve known him, I am seeing his chin! He did it on a whim, and is already growing it back. I confess he does look better with it. But boy, can you see the family resemblance between him and his dad and his brothers even more now! Well, that was graceful. I just sprained my ankle. [bonk head repeatedly on desk] It’s not a bad one, thank goodness. Why in the world don’t we have an ankle brace, given the frequency with which I do this? We won’t be able to pick one up until tonight (Ken’s got to keep working during daylight hours). Unless I can convince the delivery guy to bring one with the pizza… See, our side yard (eventually to be the meditation garden) is concrete and for some unknown reason is two levels, with a sloping step. The sawhorses are set up at the edge of this step. I was priming more boards to paint… Three times the other day when I was painting, I tripped and almost twisted my ankle. I even said to Ken while I was out there today that it was going to happen. It did within 10 minutes of that. Argh. Urgh…clunk. That’s me falling over after finishing the copy editing of a particularly messy article. For some reason, I decided that all of my December journal entries would have one-word titles. This month, we’re kicking off the year with a month of Styx quotes. Could be songs, album, personal quotes… I suppose I could have a quiz at the end—how many can you identify? [evil chuckle] Oh CRAP! They’re all up on the roof in the dark (with lights, I mean, but the sun has long since set), and I was being very good about not worrying. Until I heard a big splash and looked up to see Ken in the pool. Luckily all that happened was he stepped too far back off the bottom rung of the ladder. But, sheez. My heart can’t take this. I haven’t been able to get into the styxworld.com site all day to download the new song. [mutter, grumble] Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
