2003-12-01 11:59 PM December will be magic again AETW: 424
Sometimes, I’m really not sure how answering e-mail can take hours. I sat down with a goal of answering 10. I’m not sure if I’ve managed that, but between more of them coming in, I’ve been here for several hours, dammit. I really want the In box cleaned out. (Nice having an almost blank slate to work with, in a way.) Had a chiro appt in the a.m., with a wonderfully painful beat-on-the-knots massage afterwards. Then I ran errands, buying food for the week and cat litter, and I made a chicken Caesar salad for lunch. I still need to make another batch of rose beads (Meg & Matt graciously allowed me to denude all of their roses, and I really should have made the beads last night when the petals were fresh), and exercise, and write. Sewing night tonight, so I have to get at least some of these things done by 7:30. I made the rose beads. I didn’t have enough of the stuff to make them bind together, so we’ll see how they turn out (they weren’t impossible, just a little looser than usual). The house—and my fingers—smell like roses again, which is comforting. I also made salmon for supper—I’d bought some with “southwestern” spices and just slapped some butter on top, wrapped it in tin foil, and threw it in the oven. Sewing night went well; I helped Reina make a tunic, and fiddled with Beverly’s cotehardie pattern and showed her how to make a chemise (which is mostly done, I think). Discussed Lalena’s German chemise. I cut out the sleeves for a Persian undercoat (white linen, so it’ll go with anything) but didn’t get around to the rest of it, and hemmed the neckline of a tunic for donation. I talked to Ken, which is always wonderful, although sometimes he’s on his lunch break and doesn’t have a lot of time. We decided to throw money to the wind (to mix a metaphor) and have the data recovery service try to recover our data. Each drive will average around $1000. It may be stupid, but it’ll make me feel like I have my life back. And maybe my time is worth it—to not have to rebuild Quicken files from who-knows-when, and my submission tracking log from September on, etc. (I now have 7 rejected stories that need to be sent out.) He’s put some pictures of Korea up on the web, so if you want to see them, go to http://homepage.mac.com/dayleandken/Menu5.html Then Cat and I curled up in the living room and watched some TV, and I beaded. Amazingly, I’m essentially done with the neverending cotehardie! I may add some to the bottoms of the pieces, but I’m waiting to see about hemming it. Also, I realised that I haven’t cut out, and thus haven’t beaded, the sleeves. But that’s pretty easy. I might even be able to have this done for Twelfth Night… I decided not to exercise because my back hurts (tweaked it, and chiro helped, but I wanted to give it another day’s rest). As for writing, I’m finishing up this entry on Tuesday, so I can say that after I went to bed, I grabbed the handy bedside notebook and pen and wrote the above-mentioned words. Figured out some more things about the novel, too. Yay me. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
