Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Swimmingly smart

Well, Ken’s headed off to Portland for a couple of days, leaving disgustingly early tomorrow morning and returning Friday afternoon. I’ll pick Dave up at the airport, and less than an hour afterwards Ken will arrive, and then we’ll continue north to Oxnard for Coronation and Queen’s Champion.

Phooey that he has to go, but it’s a short trip, and the money helps. And, to be honest, sometimes a couple of days apart can be a good thing. We’ve sort of been in each other’s way a little bit lately.

Mostly dealing with e-mail today, but I’m getting a fair amount done, and that’s good. I’ve also finished reading the second novel-length ms. I have to type up a few notes about it, still.

It was warm today (bleah), but cooled down nicely once the sun began to set. I went for a twilight swim, and discovered I have Good Ideas when I swim. Alas, it wasn’t a writing idea (it was “Hey, Ken’s mom is away until the 9th, so we should borrow her car this weekend so we have space for three people and all our SCA gear”), but it was Good. Mayhap I should swim and think of writing.
