2004-12-16 11:03 AM Le Guin comments on "Earthsea" I haven't watched "Earthsea" yet. I've recorded it, having already read Le Guin's brief statement about her unhappiness with someone involved with the miniseries trying to tell the world what she (Le Guin) was trying to say in the books without ever asking her.
Here's a longer statement from Le Guin about the miniseries. I'm still going to watch it. I haven't read the books in years so I won't spend the whole time comparing. But I'm definitely going to haul them out when all our books are unpacked (after I strip the wood in the library and then paint the walls) and curl up and read them. The miniseries will be, in my mind, a different story, just like the two versions of "Battlestar Galactica" or whatever. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
