Ken’s home! Just for a short while. I picked him up at LAX last night, and we drove home along the water, although it was dark, with a dark moon, so we couldn’t really see any of it. Still, without much traffic, it was much more pleasant than the freeway. Today we’ve been lounge-y and indulgent. Lunch was sandwiches of focaccia, roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, pesto, and fresh basil (I picked up a huge basil plant yesterday at Trader Joe’s! Now I need to buy a big pot to replant it into…). I had a second round on which I also drizzled balsamic vinegar, and I think that will need to be added to future sandwiches. Oh, too yummy. Alas, at some point we will have to go out to run a couple of errands, but not many. (Largely just to the grocery store to refill the big water jugs for the water cooler—I can’t lift them on my own.) And right now he’s going through some stuff in the garage to take back to Portland with him (machine parts.) But the rest of the day will be back to lounging and decadence. ----
