2005-07-29 11:59 PM Words, wicked and stubborn Words written:
“All About the Ratings” 1382 “Breakfast in Bed” 580 Morning, pets. Sleepy. We went to Lick-n-Stick and Healing Circle last night, and lots of people came, so we didn't get home 'til nearly 11 p.m. Thankfully I'd already scheduled myself to work at home today-I need to design a style guide, and I have no design programs at work. So it's me and InDesign and my bigger, flat-screen monitor today. That, and, er, errands and writing, too. Heh. <>-<>-<> Ken kindly ran the errands (Trader Joe's, Big Lots, and Costco). (In exchange, I made dinner: chicken and veggies in a Thai green coconut milk sauce [from a jar] over jasmine rice.) I handled work e-mail, although I fear the style guide design will be done over the weekend, because I flaked on it today. I did, however, crank on the Wicked Words story. It took a while to get motivated-I was pulling the words-and then finally the words started to pull me. Stubbornness is a really good trait for a writer to have. (“I am not leaving until this story is done, dammit.”) Now I'll either work on my solo story for the antho, or go over CSF edits (back from Teresa) for a while. Then some snuggling and TV time. <>-<>-<> I love my house. I love the hardwood floors and the big fireplace, and the deco-type lamp on the built-in bookshelf next to the fireplace, and the built-in china cabinet with all of my grandmother's china in it, and my Waterhouse prints… [contented smile] ----
